In the Christmas spirit, I am trying not to steal this picture. Check it out, and be sure and click for the full size version.

Ho Ho--Whoa.

Who ever invented clowns, anyway?

Do You Know Your Candy Bars? and Other Stuff

My friend Karen wrote another great post today. It's about games such as Monopoly and Scrabble and how to win and games with little kids and identifying candy bar cross sections. Oh, and Canada. And Costco. Cute boys, too. If you have feelings about any of these topics, go and see what she has to say here.

(Thanks, Karen.)

A Story for You

You need to read this awesome account of Barlow Putz's neighbor, the monkey lady. Truly. Trust me. You'll be glad you did.

See if you can "smell the truth" like Putz can.

Fourteen-Hundred Thirty- Eight Halloween Postcards

Really. Some guy has 1438 pictures of vintage Halloween postcards posted on Flickr. And that's just the postcards! There is other stuff, too.

This guy must own every old Halloween thing ever. Go and see! Go and see!

Here.

(It's a good thing I don't know where this guy lives. I'd tip over his outhouse for not allowing his Halloween pictures to be used by bloggers. I'll bet he leaves his lights off on Halloween, too, all holed up in his house with piles of Halloween paraphernalia piled around him, stuffing his face with fun-size chocolate bars in the dark.)

Post Script November 2:

My apologies to riptheskull for wrongfully maligning him. He does share his photos through Creative Commons. I was looking in the wrong place. Sorry, sorry, sorry.

(I real don't want someone who calls themself riptheskull to be upset with me, now do I?)

Oddly Amusing Science for Halloween

Did you know that it is not smoke you see when you blow out a candle? It is wax particles floating into the air. Did I just knock your Halloween socks off? Watch the whole video. Nerdy coolness.

The Internet and Copyright Infringment

There are old rules for the old ways of publishing. If you want to live by the old rules, it is certainly an option. Sup chew.* But, if you choose to live that way, then stay off the Internet.

If you are on the Internet, your stuff is going to be used by others. Get used to it.

Pirates should give credit to the originators of works. That is good form. But they should continue to pillage and pilfer. Argggg.

Note to pirates: Go ahead and steal this post. I will be flattered.

* "Sup chew" is British for "it is up to you." (Thank you, Roger. I still remember.)
